    1. Nickel based alloy Introduction

Nickel-based alloys refer to a class of alloys with high strength and certain oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperatures ranging from 650 to 1000℃. According to their main properties, they are subdivided into nickel-based heat-resistant alloys, nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloys, nickel-based wear-resistant alloys, nickel-based precision alloys, and nickel-based shape memory alloys. High-temperature alloys are divided into iron-based high-temperature alloys, nickel-based high-temperature alloys, and cobalt-based high-temperature alloys according to their different matrixes. Among them, nickel-based high-temperature alloys are referred to as nickel-based alloys.

    • Incoloy alloy is a nickel based corrosion-resistant alloy of the iron chromium series. It has good corrosion resistance in reducing and oxidizing acids, as well as good resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. Commonly used materials in chemistry, petrochemicals, nuclear industry, and rare metal extraction include incoloy800, incoloy825, incoloy926, etc.
    • Inconel alloy is a nickel, chromium, and iron solution strengthening alloy with excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, as well as excellent cold and hot processing and welding performance. It is widely used in aviation, chemical, paper industry, and other fields. Commonly used ones include inconel600 inconel601 inconel625 inconel617 inconel718 inconelx750, etc.
    • Hastelloy alloy is a nickel based corrosion-resistant and high-temperature alloy, mainly divided into two categories: nickel chromium alloy and nickel chromium molybdenum alloy. It has good corrosion resistance and thermal stability, and is commonly used in aviation, petrochemical, chemical fields, etc. Commonly used include Hastelloy C276, Hastelloy C22, Hastelloy b2, Hastelloy b3, Hastelloy C4, Haynes 230, Haynes 188, etc.

    • Material

Alloy K-500 is a nickel-copper alloy that marries the superior corrosion resistance of Alloy 400 with significantly enhanced strength and hardness. This alloy boasts a yield strength three times higher than Alloy 400. These improved characteristics are primarily achieved through the addition of aluminum and titanium elements to a nickel-based matrix, along with age hardening. During the age hardening process, trace amounts of Ni3 (titanium, aluminum) particles precipitate into the alloy's matrix.

The low magnetic permeability, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance of Alloy K-500 have led to its widespread application, primarily in oil well inspection equipment and electronic components. A notable feature is that Alloy K-500 remains non-magnetic even at extremely low temperatures. Age hardening results in a slight volume shrinkage, with circular rods of a 2.5 x 10-4-inch diameter experiencing contraction.

To achieve optimal performance, a typical age hardening process involves maintaining the alloy at 982 °C for 30 minutes, followed by water quenching and annealing. It is then held at a temperature between 593 °C and 607 °C for 16 hours. After this, the alloy is slowly cooled in the furnace at a rate of 9.4 °C to 3.8 °C per hour until it reaches 482 °C. From 482 °C, it is cooled to room temperature, with intermediate steps such as boiler cooling, air cooling, or quenching, without specific consideration for the cooling rate.
